ASSERTION_FAILED dump and solution in SAP APO/BW

Below answer is for fixing ASSERTION_FAILED dump  in APO and BW systems.

Procedure:
Call transaction SE16 (Table Browser) and the 'RSTRANRULE' Table with the following choice parameters:

GROUPID   =  'space'
GROUPTYPE =  'space' or 'S'
REF_RULE  <> 'space'
If you see  inconsistent entries in the RSTRANRULE Table like:
TRANID        *
OBJVERS      *
RULEID         *
SEQNR          *
GROUPID      00
GROUPTYPE  space  or  GROUPTYPE    'S'
RULETYPE      space
REF RULE       *

Remove these entries from the table.

Activate the affected Changes.

Check if dump nevertheless occurs.
